The port of Palermo

is known in the Mediterranean for its size, but also for being a frequent destination for ships that deal with passenger traffic.

Palermo is connected by regulated services to Naples, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Livorno, Cagliari and Tunis. It covers destinations of various other Italian and Mediterranean locations, with connections to the Aeolian islands and Ustica.

Inside the port there are several the shipyards located, owned by Fincantieri. Passenger and cargo ships are built here.
